Glenville issues boil water advisory | Health
GLENVILLE - The Town of Glenville has issued a boil water advisory. Customers of the Glenville Municipal Water Supply living between 28 and 49 Glenridge Road are being told to boil all water being used for drinking and culinary purposes. The advisory comes as a result of a 11 a.m. water main break.
Personnel are working to repair the main and are anticipated to resolve the issue by Wednesday.
When distribution pipes and mains lose pressure it increases the chance that untreated water and harmful microbes could enter the system. The microbes are especially dangerous for infants, the elderly, and those with a severely compromised immune system.
Residents are asked to bring all water to a boil and leave it there for two minutes before letting it cool for use. Only boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.
