Cohoes students visit Proctors to see their art installation
On Thursday afternoon nearly 500 students and staff from Abram Lansing Elementary School in Cohoes will see their community art installation at Proctors Theater.
According to a statement from the Cohoes City School District, students and staff have designed an “onion-inspired” chandelier for Proctors that is made up of 500 individual self-portraits. The students referenced Shrek and how the story celebrates individuality and uniqueness.
The art installation was funded through a grant by Target that supports the school’s efforts in teaching tolerance and anti bullying stances.
