This month's Schenectady County Chamber of Commerce mixer will feature the grand opening of the newly-converted, 12,000-square-foot performance and banquet facility known as Key Hall at Proctors.
The event will be held Thursday, Feb. 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. The mixer will benefit the Downtown Ambassador Program, which trains individuals recruited by the City Mission of Schenectady to welcome and assist visitors at Downtown events.
Mazzone Management serves as caterer of record for Key Hall at Proctors. The former bank will host musical performances, business functions, weddings, fundraisers and other special events.
Proctors purchased the former KeyBank in March. The three-story structure was built during the early 20th century and includes a 4,000-square-foot marble atrium with three-story ceilings. Most of the building has been left intact and remaining materials were repurposed within the facility. Upgrades include a new connection between Key Hall and the Arcade to facilitate access from Proctors. A 14,000-pound vault door from a demolished safe has also been relocated within Key Hall. Additionally, the facility has been repainted and the marble floors refinished.
