The Upper Union Street Schenectady Farmers’ Market will open on Saturday, May 5 in the public parking lot off of Woodland Avenue in Schenectady.
The market’s hours are Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from May until October.
“The Upper Union Street Farmers’ Market continues to thrive within a scale appropriate to our district,” said Chris DiCocco, President of the Upper Union Street BID. “It’s a great fit, reflecting the independent, personal nature of our business roster.”
In the early season, bedding plants, mesclun mix, garlic, herbs, baked goods, jams, cheeses, hanging baskets, perennials, free range chicken, ducks and other meats, and herbal balms and remedies are available.
For safety reasons, people who attend the market are asked to access the parking lot from the Dean Street entrance during the Saturday morning market hours.
Community not for profit agencies, schools and fraternal organizations are welcome to set up informational tables at the market. Arrangements may be made by calling Joanne DeVoe at 518-573-0773.
