Schenectady and Rensselaer counties present Home Energy Workshops | Events
Schenectady County and Rensselaer County are partnering together to host free Home Energy Workshops.
The workshops will be held in the Brunswick Community Center on Tuesday, Feb. 7 and in the Schenectady County Community College (Stockade Room 101) on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Both workshops will begin at 7 and go until 8:30 p.m.
Workshops will go over information to help reduce energy use and annual energy costs by an average of $700. People who attend the workshops will be able to sign up for free or reduced-cost energy assessment and will learn about cash incentives and NYSERDA low interest loans. Information about the NYSERDA Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program will also be discussed.
“There are so many opportunities for our residents to save energy and save money, from cash incentives to low interest rates for energy efficiency improvements to their homes,” said Judy Dagostino, chairwoman of the Schenectady County Legislature in a statement. “I invite all of our residents to join us for this worthwhile program to learn how to make smart energy choices for you and your family.”
The first 100 residents to pre-register for the events will receive a free Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulb.
To pre-register for the workshop, click here or call toll free at 1-866-495-2959. Walk-ins are welcome.
