SCCC to host forum April 17 | Events
A National expert will be a featured speaker in a forum aimed at human resource professionals.
The forum will be held on Tuesday, April 17 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in the Stockade Building in Room 101 at Schenectady County Community College.
Rebekah Hutton will speak at the forum and it will go over information about the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Training and Certification tools for front-line workers.
SCCC is hosting the forum in collaboration with two regional BOCES and the Center for Economic Growth.
“This region is very strong in terms of distribution warehouses and facilities in addition to the obvious strengths in manufacturing as a result of Global Foundries and GE Battery projects,” said Matt Grattan, SCCC Executive Director of Workforce Development in a statement. “The MSSC credentials in production and logistics provide employees with a foundation to learn the specific skill sets within that company’s culture.”
SCCC is working with regional chambers of commerce to promote and develop skills of manufacturing technicians in Tech Valley.
To attend the forum, please contact Halina Lastarza at 381-1315/lastarh@sunysccc.edu or Michael Henderson at 381-1431/hendermb@sunysccc.edu in the SCCC Office of Workforce Development.
